Mexican Cooking Series for Youth
Ages 8–12 | 6 Classes
This program introduces children and teens to basic cooking skills through simple Mexican recipes. Students work together to prepare food, practice kitchen safety, and learn about ingredients and cultural dishes in a structured class setting.

Class Format
Each class is one hour and includes:
• A short lesson and plate explanation
• Hands-on food preparation
• Cooking and assembling dishes
• Eating together and clean-up
Students participate in all parts of the process, including:
• Prepping ingredients
• Cooking
• Assembling meals
• Cleaning work areas

Ages Served
8–12 years old
Younger and older kids are welcome based on skills
All students complete the same activities. Tasks are adapted as needed to ensure safety and appropriate skill levels for each age group.

Recipe Book
Each participant receives a recipe book that includes:
• All six recipes
• Step-by-step instructions
• Food safety and hygiene reminders
• Space for notes
This allows students to practice the recipes at home if they choose.

Program Fees & Supplies
• Registration Fee: $75
Covers each student’s cooking supplies and utensils for both home practice and in-class use.
• Class Series Fee: $225
Includes all six classes in the series.
Each student will receive a set of cooking utensils to keep.
Utensils must be brought to every class, cleaned and ready for use.
This supports:
• At-home practice
• Responsibility for personal tools
• Preparedness for each session
